Challenging Myself

My stomach aches from the smidgeon of jumbo bean and cheese burrito I just injested. Caramel Machiatto at my side, I sit and type in a relaxed stupor.  Tomorrow is Friday. Thank You.  Thank You.  Hallelujah.  Hallelujah.

I have just made it through two of my most stressful weeks of teaching.  At times, I sit in the lunchroom and want to quit.  My class is such a mix of behaviors, that it sometimes is hard to function and in all my Type A glory, I tend to put the blame for the behavior on myself.  Thirty-two kids.  Wow.  I still can't get over that number.  Today, during writing, everytime I would turn my head to help a student, another student across the room would throw a crayon.  There was also the time today, when someone came up to me to say that there was a substance that looked like throw up/ lugee in the corner and it had gotten all over someone's backpack.  I couldn't figure out what the "liquid" was, so I called the office for a clean-up.  Better to be safe, than to risk handing bodily fluids.

Partly to blame for my stress is that I have been not feeling well for a couple of weeks.  I've had a head cold, compounded with a pretty nasty stomach bug.  Completely took me out of running this week.  I plan to make it back to the gym tomorrow morning for a nice 5:30 Am jog on the treadmill.

Sigh, at least tomorrow is Crazy Hat Day, and I get to wear my tiara in public.  I might get a few odd looks at Starbucks in the morning, but it will all be worth it because I will feel pretty.
