Confessions of a lazy blogger

Soo... I'm back.  Both Cam and I, since she is joining me by sitting on my lap as I type this.
Cam looks like she has just seen a ghost and I have just returned from a little treadmill run at the gym.  This past week marked my first week with students in the classroom.  I have a class of 36 fifth-graders this year!  The number still shocks me, but if you came in my room, you wouldn't think it was too bad.  By concentrating on classroom procedures this week, plus being strict in my discipline (and being blessed with a great group of kids), my class is running smoothly and under control.  Going back to school has been a lot of fun!

As far as working out, I made the decision not to train for another marathon.  At the beginning of July, I joined Weight Watchers and am proud to say I am down about 10 pounds!  Stepping on a treadmill in Pure Fitness, I was input-ing my weight when I realized, "Wow, this is the lowest weight I have ever keyed into a treadmill AND I am not marathon training."  The realization that I can weigh less, by eating healthier and exercising normally led me to decide to take a break from the marathon for the time being.  A triathlon is still in my sights and I want to run some fun 5k's.  Plus, now I get to sit on the sidelines at PF Changs and cheer for my little sister, Jamie, as she runs her first marathon!

About 30 minutes ago,  I signed up for the Sabino Canyon Classic in Tucson on September 25th.  It's a hilly four-mile run with a free mexican breakfast, free Robeks smoothie and free massage after.  I love those perks!
